This is our most asked question and the answer is that it comes from our own farms and other small to medium sized farms of family & friends around New South Wales.
For most of our families, becoming "Certified Organic", is both too costly and too time consuming to pursue so they opt to follow sustainable farming methods instead.
We believe that the following 5 principles guarantee that the produce we bring to Sydney is of the highest nutritional quality and flavor for our customers. What's more, they ensure that the land continues to provide both food and livelihoods for generations of Australians to come.
1. Soil Management
Minimise soil erosion as farms implement soil conservation practices such as planting on contours and maintaining ground cover.
2. Health and Safety
Reduced impact on the environment and human health as no pesticides are used, farmers must use mechanical and biological pest controls.
3. Composting and Recycling
Less waste as farm by-products are composted and returned to the fields as natural fertilizer.
4. Water Conservation
Less water used as water conservation measures are applied in washing and packing stations, housing areas and irrigation.
